SOLID PERFORMANCE WHEN IT COUNTS
Mail performance in most categories stayed close to YTD averages following a holiday week that had boosted performance numbers a bit. Last year, we saw a clear decline in performance in late October as election volume challenged the system. This year was better.
This fall’s performance has outstripped the performance in every category we measure versus 2024. At this point, YTD averages for 2025 exceed YTD averages for the same period in 2024. In other words, the Postal Service in 2025 is outperforming 2024. Year over year, performance is getting better.
In the 2024 election volume was much higher, and this year doesn’t have that strain but, relatively speaking, it is a good performance for the week and for the year.
Let’s hope it keeps up. This is, traditionally, when it gets hard.
